The coffee beans that come from this Indonesian island are unlike any other in the world. This is due to their unique processing, which is halfway or so between washed and unwashed. The Gayo people occupy the northern part of Sumatra, where this coffee is grown. We roast these beans a bit darker to augment the heavy body and accentuate earthy notes in the cup.
